Oregon and Byron to face off at Class 2A regional Feb. 7

Oregon will face Byron on Thursday, Feb. 7 in the championship game of the Byron Class 2A Regional.

The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Byron High School.

Oregon advanced to the regional final by beating Rockford Christian 50-35 on Wednesday night. Byron defeated North Boone 63-33.

Oregon trailed Rockford Christian 28-27 at the end of three quarters, but went on to outscore RC 23-7 in the fourth quarter.

Samantha Lambrigtsen led Oregon with 22 points followed by Madeline Sanders with 9, McKaylee Beeter, Bree Tourtillott and Devyn Absher with 5 each.

Byron led 41-18 at the half and never looked back. Ellie Kehne led the Lady Tigers with 15 points followed by Mayson Whipple with 14, Sophie Reecher with 11, and Malory Getzelman with 10.
