Martha A. Moody

Martha A. Moody, 93, formerly of Forreston, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Provena St. Joseph Home.

She was born in Stephenson County on Aug. 22, 1919, the daughter of William and Minnie (Groene) Albert Sr.

Martha was an administrative assistant to the president of Watt Publishing Company, Mt. Morris.

She married Roland Moody on Oct. 12, 1940 in Leaf River. He died on Feb. 18, 2002.

Martha was a member of Adeline Zion Evangelical Church, where she was the former church organist.

She was a 1937 graduate of Leaf River High School.

Survivors include many nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, William (Anna Mary) Albert Jr.; three sisters, Lydia (Roy) Hagemann, Emma (Ambrose) Stover and Johanna (David) Genandt.

Funeral services were held Feb. 2 at Adeline Zion Evangelical Church with Pastor Larry Jameson officiating.

Burial was at Adeline Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
