Jacqueline M. Carroll

Jacqueline M. Carroll, 69, Polo, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at her home with family by her side.

Jackie was born, July 16, 1943 in Forreston, the daughter of Jack and Yvonne “Pete” Smith McKean.

She married Norman Carroll on May 2, 1964, in Polo.

She was a beautician for 20 years and owned Jackie’s Beauty Shoppe.

Subsequently she worked for Johnson Oil (Shell) in Polo for more than 13 years.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Polo Chamber of Commerce, Mt. Morris Women of the Moose and Crossroads Community Church.

Since retirement, she pursued her love of cooking by opening Gramma Jack’s Back 40 Deli until her health forced her to close.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to all.

Survivors include her husband, Norman; step-father, John Hackett, Polo; daughter Shelli (Randy) Wolf, Polo; sons, Scott (Frank Bua) Carroll, New York, N.Y., and Steven (Jon Huston) Carroll, Chestnut Ridge, N.Y.; sisters, Charlotte Heavener, Polo, Debra (Tony) Wadsworth, Rockford; and sister-in-law Sandy Doeden, Polo; grandchildren, Camri, Ross, and Makenzi Wolf, Holden and Zoe Bua-Carroll.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Doeden.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Community Church, Polo.

Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Polo.

Visitation was scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Crossroads Community Church, Polo.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.

Arrangements were completed by Polo Family Funeral Home.
