Robert L. Burke

Robert L. Burke, 87, Polo, died Tuesday, Jan. 8 at CGH Hospital, Sterling.

He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Robert was born Nov. 10, 1925 in Beatrice, Neb., the son of Benjamin C. and Beryl I. (Rile) Burke.  On He married Linda Shuman in Morrison on June 21, 1963.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; daughter, Teresa (Paul) Jenkins, Polo; sons, Steve (Marti) Burke, Greenwood, Neb., Robert Deshazer, Texas, Robert Burke, Maryland, Richard Burke, Genoa; brother, Ralph Burke, Oologah, Okla.; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by brothers, Dean, Don and Warren Burke.

A celebration of his life was held Jan. 12 at the Polo Senior Center.

Arrangements were completed by Polo Family Funeral home.
