Rock appointed as Ogle County State's Attorney

The Ogle County Board made Mike Rock's temporary job permanent Tuesday night — at least for the next two years.

The board unanimously approved county board chairman Kim Gouker's recommendation to appoint Rock as Ogle County State's Attorney, replacing John B.(Ben) Roe who left the job eight days ago to become a judge in the 15th Judicial Circuit.

"I appreciate your confidence [in me]," Rock, 46, told the board after the vote. "I plan to continue the good work my predecessor started."
