An Oregon woman was injured Jan. 3 when the pick-up truck she was riding in struck a culvert east of Oregon.

Ogle County Sheriffs Police said Hortencia Jaimes, 37, was transported by Oregon ambulance to Rochelle Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Police said Jaimes was a passenger in a pick-up truck driven by Iris Estrada, 18, Oregon.

During the investigation deputies learned that Estrada was westbound in the 5000 block of East Ill. 64 when she fell asleep. The vehicle traveled into the ditch striking a guardrail and concrete culvert. The crash occurred at 12:09 p.m.

Estrada refused treatment at the scene. No citations were issued.
