Wilma O. Colvin

Wilma O. Colvin, 96, Mt. Morris, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.

Wilma was born April 12, 1916 in Indianapolis, Ind., the daughter of Henry J. and Olive (Murphy) Hammann.

She was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School.

She married Benjamin Colvin on Oct. 17, 1936 in Mt. Morris.

She worked at Kable Printing after high school and was also a homemaker.

Wilma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid, and she served on the Chancel and Altar and Trustee Committees. She was in the Eastern Star.

Wilma also authored a book “Windows.”

Wilma is survived by a son, Benjamin (Darlene) Colvin, Carmel, Ind.; grandsons, Ron (Barbara), Noblesville, Ind., Jim (Amie) Colvin, Carmel, Ind., Tim (Monica) Colvin, Carmel, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Nick, Reece, Megan, Emma, Sarah, and Jenessa;nephews, Steve (Lea) Colvin and Brent (Louise) Colvin; and great-nephews, Jeff and Scott Colvin.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benjamin Colvin; and sister, Jeanette Keller.

Memorial services were held Dec. 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Morris, with Rev. Marilyn Hanson officiating.

Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris.

Arrangements were completed by Finch Funeral Home, Mt. Morris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
