Business has been brisk so far at Forreston's newest restaurant.

"We've had a great response from the community," said Danielle Rose, manager-in-training at Subway. "Sometimes we see customers twice a day. I think they're glad to have us back in town. We're really glad to be here."

The restaurant opened Dec. 19 at 210 First Ave., the former location of Sandell Insurance.

The menu includes sub sandwiches, pizza, cookies, and everything else customers have come to expect.

"We offer the full Subway menu," Rose said.

Subway was formerly located inside the Mid Town Marathon convenience store before it closed several months ago.

Hours at the new location are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

"We may extend them in the summer," Rose said.

The restaurant employs 12 people, full and part time, she said.
