Swearing in for John B. (Ben) Roe is Dec. 1
Accepting an appointment as circuit judge wasn't an easy decision for Ogle County State's Attorney John B. (Ben) Roe IV.
"I'm humbled and honored," Roe said Monday. "It was a very difficult decision to leave the behind the state's attorney's office. I hope, in the new role, to have similar opportunities to make a difference in the community."
The Illinois Supreme Court entered an order Nov. 8 naming Roe, 37, to fill the unexpired term of Judge Michael T. Mallon, 64, who is retiring Dec. 4.
