Richard R. Satterfield

Richard Romaine Satterfield, 79,  Ft. Collins, Colo., died at 6:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 in his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 24, 1933 in Polo, to Leonard and Margaret (Davidson) Satterfield.

He married the former Donna Burke in Mt. Morris on Oct. 19, 1957.

Richard farmed in his early years and was retired from the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant in 1974 and then was employed by Consolidated Freight for 22 years.

Richard enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Mt. Morris Schools  in the Class of 1951.

He is survived by his wife, Donn, Ft. Collins, Colo.; daughters, Debbie Navaro, Denver, Colo., and Sue (Bill) Sweet, Durand; son, Doug Satterfield, Liberty, Mo.; grandchildren, LeAnna Romero, Raul Villa, Jason, Kevin and Bob Sweet; great-grandchildren, Cherish, Diamond, Jonah, and Nico; brothers, Jerry (Shirley) Satterfield, Roger Satterfield, and Marvin (Cheryl) Satterfield; sister-in-law, Barb Satterfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald.

Private ceremonies to be held.

His final resting place will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris.

Cremation rites were accorded.

McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main St., Durand, assisted the family.
