Catherine M. Ehnen

Catherine M. Ehnen, 93, Oregon, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at the Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Jan. 24, 1919 near Chana, the daughter to Richard “Dick” and Cora Sherfield.

She married James Ehnen on May 21, 1938 in Pine Rock Township.  He preceded her in death in 1982.

Catherine and her husband farmed in the Chana area for many years.

She loved to garden, grow flowers, and do canning from her garden.

She was previously active at the Oregon Senior Citizen’s Center.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband; brother, John Sherfield; and an infant sister.

She is survived by her sister, Helen (John) Ehmen, Oregon; niece, Linda Summers, Rochelle; nephew, John (Della) Ehmen, Byron; and many other nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at  Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. Seventh St. Oregon, with the Rev. David Rogula officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the Paynes Point Lutheran Cemetery.

A memorial fund is established for the Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center.
