Polo's Alina Llanas will compete this Friday and Saturday at the Illinois High School Association's state golf tournament.
Llanas, a senior, qualified for the Class 1A tournament after competed at the Genoa Sectional on Oct. 8.
With a round of 91 Llanas was in a tie for fourth place which earned her a spot at the state tournament.
The state tourney will be held Oct. 12-13 in Decatur at Red Tail Run Golf Course.
The course features fast greens with tricky reads and will be a tough challenge to overcome.
"Her biggest challenge is her putting," said coach Don Reece. "The good news is she has played this course at state before. I think she will do well if she can make some putts and keep her head in the game."
