Nancy J. Kimpel

Nancy J. Kimpel, 74, Polo, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at her home.

She was a homemaker and worked for Kable News, Mt. Morris, for 11 years.

Nancy was born Aug. 13, 1938 in Milledgeville, the daughter of Clifford and Virginia (Eastabrooks) Bardell.

She graduated from Milledgeville High School as valedictorian in 1956.

Nancy loved spending time with her family, never missing their sporting events and musical activities.

She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader.

Nancy was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan, very active in her church and enjoyed quilting for those in need.

Survivors include her daughters, Lori (Jerry) King, Leaf River, Lisa (George) Landherr, Lanark; sons, Alan Kimpel,  Aurora, Colo., Steve (Kristin) Kimpel, Polo, Brian (Jean) Kimpel, Freeport; brothers, Ronald (JoDee) Bardell, Polo;  grandchildren, Jennifer (Terry) Warren, Jamie (Mike) Nielsen, Jessica, Jason and Jeffrey Kimpel, Travis (Caitlin) Roop, Heather (Steve Milam) Roop and Paige Roop, Lauren, Emily, Rebecca Kimpel, Spenser, Zachary, Seth Landherr, Joseph (Katie) Green, and Cassandra Green; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Ralph Bardell; and daughter-in-law, Kim Kimpel.

Funeral services were held Sept. 11 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Polo.

Burial was at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo.

Arrangements were completed by Polo Family Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the church.
