Dear Editor,

With my term on the Ogle County Board drawing to a close, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the generous support given for the restoration of our Ogle County War Memorial.

Upon completion of the project there was money left over. I have donated the balance of the funds to the Oregon VFW War Monument Fund for the renovation of their memorial.

I sincerely thank everyone for their contributions in memory of our veterans.

Mt. Morris Food Pantry served 132 families

Dear Editor,

God continues to bless the ministry of Loaves & Fish Food Pantry in the Mt. Morris community.

In August we have served 132 families consisting of 228 individuals, with 135 being children. We have received 11 new families.

Overall we are seeing a continuing trend in serving more families each month.

On Aug. 8 a group of almost 80 volunteers were honored with a luncheon.

This group is a blending of people from the four Mt. Morris churches, the senior center, Pinecrest and even some Leaf River folks.

Special recognition was given to the group who have faithfully maintained the Community Garden, making it possible for all our clients to enjoy fresh produce of all kinds.

Special thanks go out to all the individuals and groups who have donated food, personal products and money to keep the pantry well stocked for serving our clients.
With sincere gratitude,

Vernon and

RRC official applauds efforts for fundraiser

Dear Editor,

We always knew we were very fortunate to have the support of the Ogle County residents in our mission to serve the older adults but what a confirmation of such during our Finish the Walls BBQ event on Aug. 25.

As always, we appreciate you and want to thank you again.

What an outstanding crew we had to assist in making this a success. Ginger Pearson and Janelle Diehl co-chaired the event.

Committee members Delores Newton, Joyce Bruns, Diane Palmer, Karole Glaser, Jan Wehymer, Barb Barnes, and Diane Beesing all worked very hard in all aspects, did an awesome job and deserve a huge thank you.
