DeArvil thanks donors who helped memorial
With my term on the Ogle County Board drawing to a close, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the generous support given for the restoration of our Ogle County War Memorial.
Upon completion of the project there was money left over. I have donated the balance of the funds to the Oregon VFW War Monument Fund for the renovation of their memorial.
I sincerely thank everyone for their contributions in memory of our veterans.

Mt. Morris Food Pantry served 132 families
God continues to bless the ministry of Loaves & Fish Food Pantry in the Mt. Morris community.
In August we have served 132 families consisting of 228 individuals, with 135 being children. We have received 11 new families.
Overall we are seeing a continuing trend in serving more families each month.
On Aug. 8 a group of almost 80 volunteers were honored with a luncheon.
This group is a blending of people from the four Mt. Morris churches, the senior center, Pinecrest and even some Leaf River folks.
Special recognition was given to the group who have faithfully maintained the Community Garden, making it possible for all our clients to enjoy fresh produce of all kinds.
Special thanks go out to all the individuals and groups who have donated food, personal products and money to keep the pantry well stocked for serving our clients.
With sincere gratitude,

RRC official applauds efforts for fundraiser
We always knew we were very fortunate to have the support of the Ogle County residents in our mission to serve the older adults but what a confirmation of such during our Finish the Walls BBQ event on Aug. 25.
As always, we appreciate you and want to thank you again.
What an outstanding crew we had to assist in making this a success. Ginger Pearson and Janelle Diehl co-chaired the event.
Committee members Delores Newton, Joyce Bruns, Diane Palmer, Karole Glaser, Jan Wehymer, Barb Barnes, and Diane Beesing all worked very hard in all aspects, did an awesome job and deserve a huge thank you.
I know the results we had would not have been possible without their expertise. The net was more than $11,000.
I wish I could list all individuals and businesses that gave a silent or live auction item, supplies for the dinner, services, baked items, volunteer time, ticket sales, purchased a ticket for dinner or sale item, or wished us well as that is what made the event come together.
We really do live in a caring county and thank you for acknowledging the need for our services to the older adults of Ogle County.
Bless the many hands that put this all together.
We are continuing to “Finish The Walls” in steps.
The older adults of Ogle County, the disadvantaged and the caregivers will continue to receive resources, activities, and services that improve their quality of life.
The hands of Rock River Center applaud you.

Will vote for Dijstelbergen
I was a former neighbor to the Dijstelbergens ever since they came to Leaf River, in the early 1980s.
I have know them ever since I used to baby-sit their children. They occasionally helped resolved local issues.
Willem was also frequently helpful as a Master Gardener.
I believe that his sincerity will make him a good county board member.
Likes Willem Dijstelbergen
I have known Willem Dijstelbergen for many years. He has set his roots deeply into Ogle County’s soil.
Over the years I have learned to admire his unique way of looking at local issues.
His rich educational and diverse background makes him a refreshing addition to our county board.
I strongly support him as a Candidate for District 5 in the upcoming November election.
His 68 years of multi-cultural experience and wisdom is badly needed in our community.
Therefore, vote for Willem Dijstelbergen.
