Easter Egg Hunt held in Oregon

The Oregon Park District held its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7 at Oregon Park West.

"The children were excited and ready to go," said Debbie Leffelman, recreation event coordinator for the park district.

When the Easter Bunny blew the horn to kick off the 10 a.m. event, children from preschool age to fourth grade, scampered across their designated collection areas snaring colored eggs, chocolates, trinkets, filled plastic eggs, and candy.

One child from each age group was awarded a Grand Prize Easter Basket when they found the special plastic egg.

Grand prize winners were: Dominick Liston, preschool with parent helping; Manaija Gatlin, preschool without parent helping; Owen Seabolt, kindergarten; Emily Wagner, first grade; Javin Zimmerman, second grade; Brianna Fuentes, third grade; and Megan Corbin, fourth grade.

Additional prize winners were: Layton Eriks, Avalyn Henry, Anthony Bauer, Kyle Brechon, Braden Wills, Heather Braden, Reese Thiesen, Blaton Phillips, Peter Alfano, Elenora Alfano, Jonathan Alaniz, Nicholas Meives-Wylie, Isabella Tranchina, and Brandon Strohecker.

"The park district sponsors the hunt each year, however it couldn't be done without the very generous donations from local businesses in the community," said Leffelman. "Special thanks to the 28 volunteers who made the hunt possible  on Saturday."

Leffelman thanked all the businesses that donated to this year's event.
