Polo Cub Scout Pack 337 held the annual running of the Pinewood Derby on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

The Cub Scouts race cars that they have made from a kit given to them by the pack as a Christmas gift.

The first rounds of races were for the Tiger Den, made up of first grade boys.

There was lots of excitement for these first-timers.

Coming in first place was Cayden Webster with Ben Plachno in second and Reece Johnson rounding out third.

Bryan Lopez and Carson Jones finished fourth and fifth places respectively.

The second grade Wolves were up next with Caleb Merriman coming in first place.

Connor Ukena came in second place with Josh Chinack in third.

There was a tie for fourth which resulted in a race off leaving William Foster in fourth and Matthew Call in fifth place.

Blake Diehl and Nicholas Cain finished up the race in sixth and seventh places.

There were only two third grade Bears in the Den.

Brody Massolle and Zachary Richter both raced with gusto, but in the end, Brody took home the first place trophy with Zachary in second.

The fourth grade Webelos Den used their many years of experience to build their cars.

Brandon Albano landed in first place with Patrick Wright in second.

Hayden Goldie placed third and Patrick Call finished up the den in fourth place.

The fifth grade Webelos Den only has one member at the time of the race.

AJ Williams automatically qualifies to go to the next race.

For fun the Bear leader, Ginger Albano and her den raced against AJ Williams.

AJ held his first place title.

While the scores were being added for all of the races, the siblings of the Cub Scouts are invited to participate in a kids open.

Just like his big brother, Alex Albano placed first in that race.

In second place was Bridgett Call, with Faith Ukena in third, and Laura Wright in fourth place.

The parents are also invited to join in the fun.

In an upset, Darren Albano placed third, with his wife, Ginger in second.
