The Ogle County All Stars took on the Village of Progress in a competitive game of basketball Jan. 20 at the Oregon High School gym.

When the two teams arrived at the gym, they were greeted by bleachers full of students cheering and the pep band performing.  The high school cheerleaders were court-side and encouraged the teams to score more points or defend the hoop.

All the players were announced before the game began.  Once play started the game went back and forth but in the end the Village of Progress pulled ahead for a 47-41 victory.

During the game every player on the team had the opportunity to help their team enjoy a fun game.

For the members of the team unable to be on the court during the game, they were under the hoop to inbound the ball to teammates.

Throughout the game, the players rotated every two to four minutes so everyone who wanted to play was in the game.

The All Stars are scheduled to play a game at Stillman Valley High School against Woodstock on Thursday, Jan. 26.  They will also play at Rochelle High School on Friday, Feb. 3 against Hope Wall School.

I like it the way it is.
No opinion.
I haven't been following the issue at the local level.
