Larry L. Wagner, Sr., 75, Polo, died on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at his home.

He was a semi truck driver and lived in Polo his entire life.

He was born, June 16, 1936, in Polo, the son of Paul Wagner and Zora (Rowland) Wagner.

He married Mary Jane Hutchison on Aug. 4, 1957, in Milledgeville. 

He became a Polo fireman in 1957 and was active until recently. 

He belonged to the Blackhawk Fireman Association of Northern Illinois, was a Cub Scoutmaster, member of Polo Lions Club and member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Polo.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; daughters, Susan (Tim) Vangundy, Camby, Ind., Patricia (Glenn) Oliveira, Littleton, Colo.; sons, Ron (Brenda) Wagner, Rockford, Larry (Valerie) Wagner Jr., Bixby, Okla.;  brother, Randy (Betty) Wagner, Polo; brother-in-law, Paul Busser; grandsons, Eric and Ryan Naylon, Alec and Logan Wagner, and Kyle Oliveira; granddaughters, Leah Wagner and Natalie Oliveira; one great-grandson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lauren Wagner; and sister, Patricia Busser.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 14 at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Polo.

Burial was at Buffalo Grove Cemetery, Polo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established St. Marks Lutheran Church and Polo Fire Department.
