Rotary to host Mark Twain Day on Sept. 11

The Oregon Rotary Club will host its 14th annual Mark Twain Day on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the deck at Maxson’s Riverside Restaurant on Ill. 2 just north of Oregon.

A $30 ticket includes a riverboat ride on the Pride of Oregon, beverages, barbecue dinner, and dancing to a Dixieland jazz band.

The event is held to raise money for Rotary projects. In the past projects have included the Village of Progress, Ogle County Hospice, internet programs at Oregon High School, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, the Ogle County Fair Association, HOPE, Pegasus Special Riders, Rock River Center (formerly Ogle County Senior Services), Ogle County Special Olympics, and Rotary projects worldwide.

Tickets are available at Country Financial, from any Oregon Rotarian, or by mail.
