First Fridays at the Oregon Coliseum Sept. 3

After presenting two show in seven days, one at the Ogle County Fair (July 30) and one at the Oregon Coliseum (Aug. 6), the musicians of First Fridays are starting September at a calmer pace with just one show at the Oregon Coliseum on Sept. 3.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. with each musician (or band) taking 15 minutes at center stage.

When everyone has had their time at center stage all of the remaining (surviving?) musicians will gather on stage for a late night jam.

By the rules the show ends at midnight or when there are more musicians on stage than there are fans in the audience.

The music is varied and includes country, bluegrass, blues, gospel, folk, soft rock, and eclectic mixes of all of the above.

Participation is encouraged so bring an instrument and join the show, or kick back and just enjoy the show.

Refreshments are available.  Admission is by free will donation.

Bring a friend and enjoy some great music.

The Oregon Coliseum is located on Ill. 2, one block north of Ill. 64 in downtown Oregon.

How has Friday's snowstorm affected you?
I am staying inside.
I like snow and plan on cross-country skiing/sledding.
I don't like it because I have to shovel snow.
I expect it because I live in Northern Illinois.
It has not affected me at all.
