Aletha Mae Nordman

Aletha Mae Nordman, 66, Oregon, surrounded by her family went to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010. 

She was born Oct. 11, 1943 in Dixon the daughter to Foster and Emma (Godt) Thompson. 

She graduated from Dixon High School in 1961 and North Park College in 1965 with a degree in education. 

She married Roger L. Nordman on June 18, 1966 in Dixon. 

She taught school in Melrose Park for a year prior to starting her family. 

She was an active member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School, Children in Worship, was in the choir, and served as an elder of the church.

Her love for her grandchildren was evident through homeschooling, attending cattle shows, musical performances and church every Sunday. 

She was a 4-H leader for the Carefree 4-H Club, and past president of the Illinois Cattlewomen. 

She is survived by husband, Roger Nordman, Oregon; daughter, Annette M. (Skyler) Martin, Oregon; grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Anna, Abbie, Casey, Bode, and Allissa; siblings, Foster (Nancy) Thompson, Seal Beach, Calif., Tam (Dwayne) Siex, Crescent City, Calif., and Robin (Anita) Thompson, Spring, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her parents; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Nordman-Ring and Tim Ring; and daughter, Angela June Nordman. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. at the Ebenezer Reformed Church on German Church Road near Oregon with the Rev. Brion Brooks officiating. 

Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery. 

Visitation will also be at the church on Friday, Aug. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m.

A memorial fund is established for Ogle County Hospice, American Cancer Society, or the 4-H extension.
