Ultimate Frisbee Tournament raises $600 for cancer research

Six teams took to the Oregon High School soccer field Aug. 7 for the first Ultimate Frisbee Tournament to help raise funds to battle breast cancer.
The event, hosted by the Oregon Servant Leadership Team, comprised of Oregon High School students.
“We’ve had at least two teachers diagnosed with breast cancer and one student’s mother so we decided to have the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation,” said Sarah Heeg, an OHS senior and member of the servant leadership team.
“We thought having an Ultimate Frisbee tournament would be fun too,” added team member Jill Ebens.
“We raised a little more than $600,” said Kaltrina Kamberovska, “We’re very happy with the turnout.”
The Breast Frisbee Team, comprised of OHS teacher Aaron Sitze and students won the tournament. Competing teams included a OHS players, faculty, and friends as well as OHS graduates.
In addition to Heeg, Ebens, and Kamberovska, members of the leadership team included: Abbi Peterson, Kate Groenhagen, Eli Murray, and Brriany Houston.
