Pegasus Special Riders seeks volunteers to help with horseback program

Pegasus Special Riders, a therapeutic horseback riding organization, is seeking volunteers.

Work at Pegasus and discover the joy of assisting others and changing lives.

Experience with horses or working with individuals with disabilities is not required – training will be provided.

Two training days are planned – Monday, March 1 at 4 p.m. and Saturday, March 6 at 10 a.m.

Both classes will be held at the facility at 6668 S. Carthage Rd, Oregon, and will last approximately an hour and a half.

A short video will be shown with simple safety demonstrations.

Weather permitting, riding lessons will begin on Monday, March 8.

Volunteers should visit www.pegasusspecialriders.org to download an application to bring to the training.

For more information, volunteers and new riders should call Wayne Copeland at  815-973-3177.

How has Friday's snowstorm affected you?
I am staying inside.
I like snow and plan on cross-country skiing/sledding.
I don't like it because I have to shovel snow.
I expect it because I live in Northern Illinois.
It has not affected me at all.
