Lucille M. Patterson,  101, Polo, died on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at Polo Rehabilitation Center. 

For five years, she was a program director for the Y.W.C.A., Danville, after graduation from Eureka College.

Patterson was born on June 13, 1908 in Pine Creek Township, the daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Davis) Stahler . 

She was united in marriage to Clifford O. Patterson on Nov. 17, 1935 in Polo. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, A.A.U.W., Polo Garden Club, past president of Polo Council of Churches and Polo High School Alumni, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois Board, Lutheran Church Women, Board of American Missions and many more organizations.

Survivors include a daughter Sandra (the late Bill) Donahue, Lafayette, Ind.; a son Leo (Linda) Patterson, Dixon; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She  was preceded in death by her husband, Pat; a brother, Austin Stahler; and a grandson, Stephen Donahue.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Polo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and Polo Community School Foundation.
