Regional games for boys basketball begin next week

Forreston

The Forreston High School boys basketball team will be on the road for the opening round of the play-offs this season as it will take part in the Fulton Regional Feb. 22-26.

On Tuesday, Feb. 23, the second seeded Cardinals will take on seventh seed Milledgeville at 6 p.m., and then third seed Prophetstown will play six seed Erie at 8 p.m.

The first game of the regional will have fourth seed Polo against fifth seeded Fulton Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m., and the winner will play first seed Eastland on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m.

If Forreston can win their first game they will face off against the winner of the Prophetstown/Erie game at 8 p.m. following the Eastland game on Feb. 24.

The regional championship will be played on Friday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

The regional winner will move into the River Ridge Sectional to play the winner of the Indian Creek Regional on Wednesday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m.

The second sectional game will have the winners of the South Beloit and East Dubuque Regionals squaring off Tuesday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The sectional championship is set for Friday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m., and  the winner will advance to the NIU Super-Sectional on Tuesday, March 9 at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Somonauk Sectional.

Polo

The Polo High School boys basketball team will be on the road for the opening round of the play-offs this season as it will take part in the Fulton Regional Feb. 22-26.

The fourth seeded Marcos will play the fifth seed Fulton on Monday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Feb. 23, second seed Forreston will take on seventh seeded Milledgeville at 6 p.m., and then third seed Prophetstown will play six seed Erie at 8 p.m.

If Polo can knock off host Fulton in its first game, they will play first seed Eastland on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. The winners of the two Tuesday night games will face off at 8 p.m.

The regional championship will be played on Friday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
