Oregon Police Activity

Oregon Police Chief Darin DeHaan reports the following police activity for Feb. 1 through Feb. 14.

Feb. 1

At 11:15 a.m., police arrested Bob L. Crossen, 55, Polo, for driving while license revoked. Crossen was transported to the Ogle County jail. This violation occurred in the 500 block of S. Fourth Street.

At 8 p.m., police arrested Heather A. Selden, 38, Oregon, on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear on a traffic citation. Selden was transported to the Ogle County jail.

At 8:40 p.m., police arrested Chris A. Foster, 30, Oregon, on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Foster was transported to the Ogle County jail.

Feb. 2

At 5 p.m., police investigated a two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred earlier in the day, at approximately 2 p.m. in the 200 block of N. Fifth Street involving a 2003 Mercury driven by Dennis E. Canfield, 56, Chana, and a parked 2007 Honda belonging Andrew J. Rager, 31, Oregon. No citations were issued.

Feb. 3

At 5:15 p.m., police arrested Charles M. McCorkel, 43, Amboy, on two outstanding Lee County warrants, for felony deceptive practice and a probation violation. McCorkel was transported to the Ogle County jail.

At 6:58 p.m., police arrested Kasey L. Springer,30, Freeport, with possession of a controlled substance. A passenger in Springer’s vehicle, Christopher C. Ellis, 28, Freeport, was also arrested for aggravated battery. Both Springer and Ellis were transported to the Ogle County jail.

Feb. 5

At 4:48 p.m., police arrested Matthew A. McKenzie, 41, Oregon, for possession of drug paraphernalia. McKenzie was also issued citations for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. McKenzie was transported to the Ogle County jail. These violations occurred in the 400 block of W. Washington Street.

Feb. 6

At 7:44 p.m., police took one 17-year-old female juvenile of Sterling into limited custody for the offense of runaway. The juvenile was released into her parent’s custody with no further action requested.

Feb. 8

At 4:15 p.m., police issued Chris A. Foster, 30, Rockford, a city citation for the offense of operating a vehicle when the registration is expired. This violation occurred in the 400 block of Madison Street.

Feb. 9

At 8 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash in the Blackhawk Center parking lot where a 1999 Ford driven by Skylar C. Dhaese, 17, Oregon, struck a parked 1996 Ford belonging to Jill Nordman of Oregon. No citations were issued.

Feb. 10

At 1:45 p.m., police arrested Neil C. Tidmore, 28, Hampshire, on an outstanding DeKalb County warrant for failure to appear on a domestic battery charge. Tidmore was transported to the Ogle County jail.

At 6:40 p.m., police investigated a two-vehicle traffic crash in the Third Street Municipal Parking Lot where a 2004 Komatsu driven by Ray Hawn, 53, Oregon, struck a parked vehicle belonging to Nicholas T. Griffin, 18, Oregon. No citations were issued.

Feb. 11

At 11:25 p.m., police issued Bobby L. McVay, 29, Rockford, a traffic citation for driving while license suspended. This violation occurred in the 100 block of N. River Road.

Feb. 12

At 5:06 p.m., police issued Zachary L. Stanley, 26, Oregon, traffic citations for no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. These violations occurred in the 400 block of Adams Street.

Feb. 13

At 1:05 a.m., police issued Christopher W. Ditto, 18, Oregon, a traffic citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. This violation occurred in the 300 block of Franklin Street.

At 4:01 p.m., police investigated a disturbance that occurred at 1007 Pines Road resulting in the arrest of Richard A. Fenske, 64, Oregon, for battery. Fenske was transported to the Ogle County jail.

At 4:55 p.m., police investigated a domestic disturbance that occurred in the 400 block of Monroe Street that resulted in taking one 13-year-old female juvenile into limited custody for the offense of domestic battery. The juvenile was released back into her mother’s custody with a copy of the incident being sent to the juvenile probation department.

At 9:56 p.m., police issued Ryan J. Rosenbalm, 19, Mt. Morris, a city citation for the offense of speeding—43 mph in a 30 mph zone. This violation occurred in the 400 block of N. Fourth Street.

Feb. 14

At 6:40 p.m., police issued Kyle W. Dixon, 40, Dixon, a city citation for the offense of operating a vehicle with an expired registration. This violation occurred in the 100 block of S. Fourth Street.

At 10:10 p.m., police issued Rodney T. Pitt, 49, Oregon, a traffic citation for operating a vehicle when registration is suspended for non-insurance. This violation occurred in the 100 block of N. Fourth Street.

Twenty warnings were issued for Feb. 1 through Feb. 14
