The Oregon High School boys basketball team just didn't have an answer for state ranked Winnebago Feb. 11 during Pack the Place Night in Oregon.

The Hawks fell down by 18 points after the first quarter, and they never recovered. They were outscored in two of the final three periods, and lost by 27 points, 64-37.

The loss dropped the Hawks to 8-15 on the season, and they are 0-7 in the Big Northern Conference.

The Indians showed their dominance in the opening period of the game, and they put Oregon in a big hole early. The Indians netted 27 points in the opening quarter, and they carried an 18 point advantage into the second, 27-9.

The Hawks turned things around in the second quarter as they cut into their large first quarter deficit, but they were still down double digits at the half. They outscored Winnebago by two in the period, 13-11, but were still down by 16 at the break, 38-22.

Both teams offenses slowed in the third quarter, but it was the Indians that added to their lead going into the fourth. They netted 10 points to Oregon's eight in the frame, and Oregon trailed by 18 with one period remaining, 48-30.

The Hawks were outscored one more time in the fourth quarter, and that put to bed any chances of a comeback. Winnebago heated up again in the period, outscoring the Hawks 16-7, and went on to post a 27 point victory, 64-37.

Leading the way for the Hawks were Patrick McFalls with 13 points, Drew Rhea finished with seven, Alex Cain chipped in six, Sam Noble finished with four, Patrick Shaulis added three, and Kyle Ruthe and Jimmy Buonavolanto each finished with two points apiece.

How has Friday's snowstorm affected you?
I am staying inside.
I like snow and plan on cross-country skiing/sledding.
I don't like it because I have to shovel snow.
I expect it because I live in Northern Illinois.
It has not affected me at all.
